Cheapos on the right, $1 surprises on the leftYesterday (which now seems like a week ago) I was stuck in JFK airport while my plane delay grew from 1 hour to 2 hours to 4 hours before my eyes.  That morning, I had packed my bag with the knowledge that with only a 1:30 flight to Pittsburgh, I could probably do without the iPod and could live with only my Macbook Pro.

Oh, that was before I knew about the delay.  I needed music, and with all the babble over the PA, I could barely hear the new Raconteurs from my MBP built-ins.

Thats when I discovered this little gem in an honor system box.  I limped over to the box living next to the gate agent (yes, limped, I had foot surgery two days ago also) - I picked up my headphones with little expectation.

Man, I thought to myself, these things are pretty nice.  Supple leather ear muffs surrounding the headphones, with an understandably cheap headband.  So I plugged it into the Macbook, fired up iTunes and set the Raconteurs on shuffle.  Amazing..these things had good balance, nice highs and a full midrange, the bass wasn’t bad either.

The headphones made for an enjoyable 3 hours of further delay.  I marvel at this piece of $1 heaven.  I’m sure JetBlue is losing money on these.

Anyways, next time you’re in the airport, pick up a pair.  Stash them away as your extra pair for the office or apartment.  I highly recommend.  2 thumbs up.
